Geraint Griffiths M.ASvP Dip SpV Dip ScV MSc MCOptom

Managing Director

Becoming a qualified Optometrist in 1980, Geraint has worked in optics ever since. He took over this practice from Mark Davis in April 2007 to develop his interest in Sport and Schoolvision and relate this to everyday practice. The practice was re-named Optical3 when Geraint took over – He says "It's a fulfilment of a dream to be working with such a great team. To serve the people of Anstey and the surrounding areas is a constant joy".

Geraint has spent many years looking into the cause of dyslexia (being dyslexic himself), particularly with children, and has found that the same problems that cause poor eye coordination also affect sporting performance. He has improved the lives and achievements of many children and sportspeople over the years.

Geraint's hobbies are theatre (having performed in many productions over the years) and in his slightly younger days, high jump (he held the Welsh High Jump Championship for 3 years) and the British masters record for 11 years.

debbie morse

Debbie Morse - Finance Director

Debbie started working for SVUK (a branch of Optical3) part time for a couple of years before the offices were set up in Anstey in 2006. She now works as the Finance Director for Optical3 Ltd, and Office Manager for SVUK (Geraint's second company operating from the same building), dealing with conference & Diploma bookings.

Debbie also works for Warwick University as a Simulated Patient (role-playing) for medical students. Her background has been in both secretarial work and the travel industry, having worked for Thomsons for 10 years. Her hobbies include music (where she performs regularly as a duo with her husband), theatre & walking her 3 dogs.

Linda Morris - Business Support Officer

Linda became a full member of the Optical3 team in 2018 to help Debbie Morse with administration and the introduction of our new accounting system. She previously joined our sister company, SVUK, in 2013 after working as an optometrist in independent multiple practice for 13 years.

Linda has been creating our academic library of research, case histories and professional development videos in the members area of the SVUK website. She has become a great asset to the Association of Sport and Schoolvision Practitioners and an important link to the day-to-day clinical work of Optical3. She has multiple roles for SVUK as a moderator in the diploma exams, editor of the Journal, liaising with members and supporting Debbie with SVUK administration.

Debbie (Sandie) Ward - Senior Receptionist

Joining us on 15th December 2015 as a Receptionist, this was a new career for Debbie, and she has enjoyed the challenge. Alongside reception, Debbie assists with frame buying, using her flair for art and design, which also works nicely for our window displays at Optical3. Debbie has 3 children, and lives in Anstey.

staff5Sarah Leach - Receptionist

Sarah joined Optical3 in November 2020 and is enjoying her new role as receptionist. Previously, she worked for a food safety and health & safety consultancy (12 years) and has a wealth of admin/office experience. Outside of work she loves shopping, going to the gym and socialising with friends and family. She also loves cooking & baking and loves to share her culinary delights with friends!!!

We welcome our latest team member:

Josephine Griffiths - Marketing Executive

Josephine joined the team midway through 2021 as Optical 3's Marketing Associate, on a new Apprenticeship Scheme. She has a keen interest in Marketing/Social Media/Twitter/Instagram, which will be greatly beneficial to both Optical3 and SVUK Limited. Josephine enjoys reading, playing the piano and listening to music in her spare time.
